Genesee Valley Region Students Excel in Eastern Division Student Seminar

March 16-19, 2007
Area students participated in a competition in the Eastern Division National Ski Patrol Student Seminar held at Bretton Woods Mountain Resort in NH the weekend of March 16-19, 2007. Eight states from the east coast were represented including CT, MA, ME, MD, NY, PA, RI, and VT. The student’s skills were tested in the following categories: Skiing/Boarding, Toboggan Handling, Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) and Assessment.
Student Patroller Malcolm “Mac” Inglis (Bristol), from Honeoye Falls, NY took second place in the area of Toboggan Handling, third place in Skiing and second place for Overall skills.
Student Patroller Trevor Mooney (Swain), from Geneseo, NY took second place in the area of Skiing.
Student Patroller Marie Revekant (Swain), from Pittsford, NY took fourth place in the area of Assessment.
Other Student patrollers participating were Matt Apenowich (Swain) from Wallace, NY, Corey Bryant (Swain) from Brockport, NY, Claire Revekant (Swain) from Pittsford, NY, Luke Rague (Swain) from Chili, NY and Connor Walsh (Bristol) from Brighton, NY. All Students did well in the competition.
These student patrollers are members of the Genesee Valley Region of the National Ski Patrol where they have been trained and are also members of the National Ski Patrol.
