Basic Mountain Travel and Rescue Course
December 1 & 2, 2001
The classroom portion of the weekend on Saturday continued the topics begun at an earlier evening session. This included material on ropes & knots, emergency shelters, environmental concerns, weather, navigation, teamwork, medical considerations and search and rescue.
After lunch the group relocated to Webster Park to set up camp for the outdoor portion of the course. Once set up, the group participated in a navigation drill, looking for a couple of coolers containing refreshments.
On Sunday morning, there were sessions on setting up emergency shelters and starting campfires.
